Transferring your Falabella

Did you recently become the owner of your own Falabella? On behalf of the EFS, we congratulate you on your purchase! We understand that you want to spend all your available time with your new Falabella, but please do not forget how important it is to have your him or her registered in your own name!

First of all, it is important for the studbook registration system to know who the current owner of your Falabella is. Even more importantly, in the event of an emergency, we are obliged to inform the authorities about the current owner of your Falabella.
The authorities may request this information from us if, for example, a horse or pony has broken loose and been found or if there is a notifiable disease in the horse population.

When a competent authority requests this information from us, we automatically pass on the last registered owner known to us in the system. Therefore, please make sure that your Falabella is registered in your own name, and that the address data known to us corresponds to your current residence/address!

How can I transfer my Falabella to my own name?

You can transfer your Falabella into your name by sending the original studbook document and passport to the EFS, together with the data of the new owner. The details of the new owner can be provided via the transfer form. TRANSFER FORM

The costs for a transfer without membership are €60.00 for the certificate of registration and €45.00 for the transfer of the passport.

If you wish to become a member of the EFS, this is also possible in combination with the transfer in the name of your Falabella. Membership costs €75.00 / calendar year and the one-time registration fee is €25.00. The costs for the transfer in name amount to €35.00 for the BVI and €30.00 for the passport (for members). This makes the total cost of registration for new members €165.00.

The documents are returned by registered mail, for which we charge the current PostNl rates.
