The weekend from 4 to 6 October, we were present with European Falabella Studbook at Horse Mania Event at Azelhof Horse Events - Official in Lier (Belgium). It was a very enjoyable and fun weekend. Our fantastically beautiful Falabella horses received a lot of attention from young and old alike. We will be there again next year!

On Sunday August 25, the Falabella summer inspection took place. The full list of results can be found at ‘Downloads’, but here are the names of the champions. The by Joke and Myrthe Repko bred approved breeding stallion 35 REPKO F. GIORGIO ARMANI (See photo) became adult champion & general champion. Giorgio is a son of Pablo Del Charco and Repko F. Princess. 36 HOOIDONKHOFS F. AMARETTO, who is also an approved stallion, was reserve adult champion. 15 FLORITA ML was able to convince the judges as the most beautiful foal and became foal champion, while 2 PANCHO VAN ANTÉ became reserve foal champion. 18 HIDALGÓ LQ, who was reserve foal champion & reserve general champion in August ‘23, was now elected youth champion & again reserve general champion. The reserve junior champion & winner of the Falabella section Falabella with the best movements was 22 REPKO F. CHAVELLE. 10 ILLUNÃ LQ was chosen as winner of the Most Beautiful Head. FARON (left in the picture) became youth champion & general champion at this inspection. He is a son of HOOIDONKHOFS F. AMARETTO and ROSITA DEL CHARCO. The winner of the previous inspection 3 HORATIÓ LQ now became reserve youth champion. The small mare 21 J&R STABLES GLORIA (at the right) became adult champion & reserve general champion. 23 SAVANNAH DEL PANTANO, who became foal champion in 2021, also performed very well this year and became reserve adult champion & winner of the Falabella rubric of best movements. 4 LOLITA ML clinched the title of winner of the Most Beautiful Head rubric. Sunday evening, February 11th, Bella Baya was born at Bellaria Stud. The sire of this beautiful filly is Repko F. Giorgio Armani. Her dam is Bella Nota, a daughter of Rzadkiewa F. Romero. Congratulations to the proud breeders and owners!

On 27 August 2023, the Falabella summer inspection took place. At ‘Downloads’ you will find all the results, but here are the names of the champions in advance. The jury began with the inspection of the colts. They found this a very strong group of foals. The Foal Champion & Overall Champion & winner of the section Most Beautiful Head therefore became 7 HORATIÓ LQ (on the right in the picture next to his mother Lola La Quilla). Bred by Los Quatros Stud, Horatio LQ is a son of Salvador van de Schelphoeve and Lola La Quilla. His stablemate 3 HONRADÉZ LQ (pictured left) was reserve foal champion & reserve general champion. Stoeterij Los Quatros had a very successful day, as their yearling mare 23 GIGI LQ became youth champion later in the day. The appaloosa mare 30 HOOIDONKHOFS F. CARESA became reserve youth champion. 36 REPKO F. MAQUINTO'S LITTLE AMORE was adult champion & winner of the Falabella category with the best movements. 41 NOVIA LA QUILLA became reserve adult champion. 19 DIARA DEL PANTANO was awarded reserve in the best movement section, a bonus awarded by the judges. On Monday evening, 4-year-old Bella Punta Bellota of Stoeterij Bellaria gave birth to an adorable colt: Bello Calypso. The sire of this handsome colt is Tiramisú MF, imported from Argentina. In Calypso's bloodlines we also find the famous Fantoche. Congratulations to the proud breeders and owners!

When applying for a horse passport in the Netherlands, there are a few things you need to consider. We list them for you: A horse must have a passport within 9 months of birth. On the second day of Horse Event 2022 , we would like to show you what the European Falabella Studbook stand looks like early in the morning before the visitors arrive. Real effort has been made to promote the Falabella horse. It looks really beautiful, partly due to the beautiful curtains that Yvonne van Werkhoven has provided and the beautiful flower arrangements that Nadine Koekoek-Kuipers has made. In February 2022 we received an e-mail from VHL Genetics that the test for Dwarfism ACAN (P306) had been adjusted based on new scientific insight from 2018. It concerned an adaptation of the tests for ACAN D3 and ACAN D4. The new test has been applied since December 1st, 2021. Therefore, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the results of tests performed before December 1st, 2021, may incorrectly indicate that your Falabella is not a carrier of dwarfism. In that case, a new test is recommended. Please check the certificate with the test results for the date on which the test was performed. If you need more information, please contact the EFS-board.

On Sunday the 28th of August, the annual Falabella inspection took place at Manege Zwolle in Zwolle. From 10.00 onwards, the Falabellas put their best foot forward. The day started with the inspection of the foal classes. First the colts came into the ring, followed by the fillies. The beautiful colt Frisia F. Enzo of Carin and Ids Waterlander convinced the jury with his appearance. Later on in the day, he also became the reserve overall champion. After the foals, the enters and the two-year olds came into the arena. Here the yearling Falabellaland Bellatrix owned and presented by Hanneke Kolthof showed herself the best. She won the youth championship and, in the afternoon, the category 'Falabella with the best movement'. J&R Stables Gloria of Johan van der Veen and Rene van Teijlingen became the reserve youth champion, and she also won the title of 'Falabella with the most beautiful head'. After all that young talent, we came to the studbook entries. Unfortunately, the stallion registered for the studbook registration had been cancelled. Fortunately, however, we did have a nice group in the studbook admission category of Falabella mares. This category was won by last year's overall champion: Kiara van Anté owned by John Bouwmeester. Elena van Brezal of Carin and Ids Waterlander, who became second in this section, was more convincing to the jury during the championships and became reserve adult champion. On Saturday, April 16th, the stallion grading took place together with the studbook approval of the mares at Zorgboerderij van der Wijst in Vorstenbosch. The day started with a workshop in which the jury team explained how they judge a Falabella horse and how to interpret the score form. Using videos of Manuelo van de Enkhoeve, Falabella Antonieta, and Pinturo Del Charco, the participants received a clear explanation. It was a very interesting workshop! At 11.30, the inspection started. The Falabellas and their handlers put their best foot forward. Felipe LQ (breeder: Stoeterij Los Quatros - owner: Henk Jansen) won the prize for the Falabella with the best movement. The two-year-old stallion Repko F. Vivaldi (breeder and owner: Repko Falabella Stoeterij) was not only youth champion, but also overall champion of the day. The nine-year-old Leonardo Da Vinci van de Wilgenhof (breeder: Stoeterij de Wilgenhof - owner: Alpaca & Falabella Ranch Rzadkiewa) became champion of the adult Falabellas and reserve overall champion. On 15 April 2021, European Falabella Studbook (EFS) was recognised by the RVO as a daughter studbook of the Mini Falabella studbook in Argentina. The Belgian government also recognised EFS in the course of the summer of 2021. EFS was also given the mandate to issue 'real' Falabella passports. Because TFS, who took over the old Falabella Studbook at the beginning of 2020, did not agree with the decision of the RVO, Sue Eckholdt lodged an objection to this decision with the RVO in the spring of 2021. The RVO naturally informed the EFS Board, after which the EFS members were also informed. The grounds on which TFS objected were also communicated to the EFS Board. According to the notice of objection, the RVO could not recognise EFS! In early September, a hearing was organised by the RVO to hear the parties involved. Several factors played a role in the RVO's decision to declare TFS' objection unfounded. TFS and FSE follow the guidelines of the ACCF. When the EFS was founded, there was NO other studbook in the European union for the Falabella breed. Due to the Brexit, the UK is no longer a member of the European Union! TFS and EFS are both studbooks with the objective of breeding purebred Falabella horses. Due to the Brexit, the recognition of the UK studbooks has expired for the European Union. TFS is listed as a breeding organisation in third countries. This means that TFS is authorised to issue zootechnical certificates allowing breeders to bring Falabella horses into the European Union as purebreds. With such a zootechnical certificate, breeders are entitled to register their animals with a studbook for the same breed within the European Union. TFS has an interest in ensuring that purebred Falabella horses or their offspring are entered in a herd book for the same breed in the European Union. EFS is the only studbook for Falabella horses recognised within the European Union! And is therefore the only one! The RVO states that EFS is rightly and solely recognised within the European Union. ACCF and Mini Falabella are both equal according to the legislation. No evidence has been provided by TFS that proved to be correct with regard to the rules and legislation. There is no DNA test proving whether a horse is a Falabella, only a parentage check. EFS has equated ACCF and MiniFalabella. In its investigation, EFS saw no basis for the ACCF to be recognised. In principle, one has to meet the same requirements as in the regulation. ACCF does not meet the requirement of having enough breeding animals! On 29 August, the annual Falabella inspection took place at Hengstenhouderij v.d. Oetelaar in Schijndel. Despite the drizzly weather, there was a good atmosphere among the participants. The horses were presented to the jury quickly. This was necessary because of the large number of participants. The best results were achieved by: Overall champion of the day and youth champion Kiara van Anté (see photo) who convinced everyone with a total of 87 points. Adult and reserve champion of the day Hooidonkhofs F. Casanova who scored 85 points. Foal Champion Savannah del Pantano who also took second place in the category 'Falabella with the best movement' was even rewarded with a score of 89 points! The category Falabella with the best movement was won by Zegwaard F. Rolinera.

On Sunday 25 April, we had our baptism of fire: the first inspection of the European Falabella Studbook at Manege De Molenheide in Schijndel. Because we had to adhere to the Corona regulations, the number of participants was limited. We were therefore very pleased that everyone was very enthusiastic about the organisation, the beautiful location, the livestream and the professional jury team. Through various channels, you could follow our judging day via the livestream. This was received very enthusiastically by everyone. The horse that got the highest score of the day was Kiara van Anté (see picture, bred by John Bouwmeester.

Last week, we received notification from the RVO that they've recognised European Falabella Studbook as the studbook for 100% purebred Falabella horses. We would therefore like to thank Mr. Evaristo Falabella, who placed his trust in us to maintain the studbook for Falabellas throughout Europe. We will provide more information about this to our members at the general members' meeting. As mentioned earlier, we also want to be able to obtain 'real' Falabella passports for our 100% purebred Falabella foals. Therefore, we have already taken further steps to get that approval. The next step is to obtain international recognition in Belgium and Germany. The necessary steps have been taken for this. And of course other countries where enough members are interested can be added to the geographical area. So if you would like your country to be added, please let us know. We will then look at the possibilities. So the ball is seriously rolling.

At March 16 the first foal of Aldina Del Pantano was born. Father is Manuelo van de Enkhoeve. The name of the filly is Dona Del Pantano.
