Information Foal Registration

Foal registration with the EFS

The EFS registration paper and horse passport are very important for the owner of a foal. You need to register your foal with the EFS yourself and nowadays you can do this online as well. Do not wait too long with this, because a foal must have a horse passport within 6 months after birth!
Members of the EFS can log in via MY EFS and register their foal. This is even easier because the personal data is already filled in for you!

- Birth Announcements after foal birth, should be at the secretariat within 6 weeks including hair of the foal.
- Chipping foals within 6 months, the
chip form can be downloaded from the site. The sketch should be fully completed with a vet's signature and stamp on both sides of the form. The original form should be sent by post to the studbook secretariat within seven days of completion.

If you are not the breeder of the Falabella horse, but you do want to register the foal with the EFS, you can ask the EFS for help. You can reach us for this by telephone and by e-mail.
We would like to receive the birth certificate with the details of your foal. The name of your foal should preferably be a Spanish/Argentine name with max. 25 characters including spaces and stable name. If the parents of the foal are not yet registered with the EFS, we would like to receive a copy of their pedigree.

As soon as we have received the data of your foal, you will receive an invoice (by e-mail) from the EFS for the costs of the foal registration.
